A significant percentage of headaches in Bellingham are directly caused by mechanical problems in the neck’s spinal facet joints. These headaches are caused by the neck as the neck joints can be “stuck.”
Life Chiropractic’s comfortable, consistent and computerized adjusting instruments “unstick” the joints which results in better movement which means improved spinal health.
What Causes Headaches in Bellingham?
When the facet joints don’t over time don’t properly work over time, the skull, neck and shoulder muscles called the trapezii or “traps” become less mobile and really tight. This tightness compresses the neck vertebral joints which then limits the joints required healthy fitness-producing natural movements.
Now, if your neck has been the recipient of physical trauma the spinal ligaments, which as a group act like tape, hold your neck together so that it can function as a whole unit. Trauma, either a sudden impact such as a vehicle crash or athletic impacts or long repetitive work positions or motions, can cause ligaments to become lax. This laxity destabilizes joints which can lead to premature and painful arthritis.
A ligament, which has a weak blood supply, does not heal to its original shape and function. In other words we have a permanent injury.
However, through timely and effective treatment, the person’s lax ligament symptoms do not have to be permanent.
In order to determine the locations and severities of the joints loosening effects of spinal laxities, which are termed “alteration of motion segment integrity, measurement testing of the person’s neck x-rays is conducted at an outside facility. These measurements enable the chiropractor to arrive at diagnoses and follow consensus published guidelines in order to produce a sensible, foundational and productive treatment plan.
If you elect to once again live a more normal life which means doing the things you want to do without having your days, weeks, months and years ruined by headaches you can take positive action for yourself.
