Reversed Strength Ratio in Bellingham
The vast majority of a human being’s daily life is a life spent facing forward as evidenced by:
- Sitting in the “C” position while eating
- Sitting in the “C” position while watching television
- Sitting in the “C” position while driving
- Sitting in the “C” position while on public transportation
- Sitting in the “C” position while in class
- Sitting in the “C” position while writing a test
- Sitting in the “C” position while using the computer
- Pushing a grocery cart
- Handling various chores around home - painting, cooking, vacuuming, gardening, washing the vehicle
- Athletics: dribbling the ball, throwing the ball, catching the ball, kicking the ball, the with bench press, the standard pushup, pulling down the weights with the latissimus pulldown, conventional situps; plus, don’t forget the old-fashioned face-forward walking, running and riding the bike
The preponderance of this backwards ratio is encountered every day at Life Chiropractic in Bellingham. It is not a “normal” condition. It is simply constantly present.
Facing and Looking Forward
So, we spend the majority of our lives facing forward and looking forward. That disproportionate face-forward time, especially when sitting in the “C” position trains our front (anterior muscular chain) muscles to gradually shorten and tighten until that shortness and tightness becomes our personal default system.
Thus, our rear (posterior muscular chain) muscles gradually become relatively “weaker” compared to our interconnected front muscular chain.
That is the “reversed strength ratio.”
Imbalance Leads to Weakened Muscles in Bellingham
Over time, this imbalance contributes to forward head orientation, a straightened neck, a weakened thoracic spine, a weakened lower back, a weakened pelvic area, internal organs dysfunction and a compromised, inefficient nervous system (references available on request).
Over time, this reversed ratio is physically and mentally “wearing” on the energy of the body’s connective tissues and as a result they struggle to do what they are supposed to do when called into action.
The person with a stronger front than a back is usually “tired much of the time,” has less resilience to stresses, strains, recovery from illness and can’t reach their physical potential.
I am issuing a “call to action” so you can come over to the clinic and learn more about “Deviations in the body’s center of gravity caused poor posture, which resulted in intestinal problems, . . .”;
